Head-on into nostalgia.

Prologue
Our dearest Professor Delgado asked me & my college batchmates to write a testimony about our experiences as an AB Communications student in the University of  Batangas. I doubt if a few paragraphs can ever do justice to those memorable years of our lives but, oh well, I tried---

Wide-eyed with fear and reduced to near silence by my shamefully ill-equipped Tagalog vocabulary best describes the timid creature that I was when I first came to the Philippines to pursue higher education. But fate bestowed a great kindness in leading me past UB's towering gates, where It was my AB Comm experience that succesfully brought me out of my shell.
As a BACO student, the world itself became our classroom. Our professors did well in teaching us theories, but even better in giving us enough space to independently test those theories with more than enough hands-on challenges to ward off the demons of boredom. Their guidance and encouragement artfully complemented the flexible yet intensive program structure of our course, allowing us to fully develop our individual interests and potential. Even my British twang managed to make Jose Rizal proud in embracing the Filipino language -- with bits of Baklese as an amusing bonus!
I strongly believe that I speak for myself as well as for many other fellow students in saying that we have never really recovered from the ecstasy of our BACO-led climb from invisible to invincible. To this day, I look back on my college memories with the fondest of smiles. From my first post-graduation job of Junior Editor for a Philippine academic publication to my current label of Media Executive for an international advertising firm in Dubai, nothing beats UB Maskom in giving rise to the uncontrollable impulse to mutter "Wow!"
